Trevor Buttle, CPA, CA, MBA
Trevor Buttle qualified as a CA with an international accounting firm noted for their expertise on small business after completing his Masters degree in Business Administration from York University. Trevor’s focus was primarily on serving the needs of self-employed professionals and owner managed or closely held manufacturing and distribution companies, and the special challenges and opportunities that they presented.
Throughout his 15 plus years of tax experience, communication has always been key. Discussing current tax strategies and planning results in a greater understanding of the situation from both sides and often leads to potential tax planning initiatives and opportunities to reduce taxes.
Since 2001, he has been in private practice serving clients in a broad range of industries and revenues. GBA was established to offer comprehensive services in accounting, tax, and management consulting specifically focused on the needs of entrepreneurs and professionals.
Current clients include engagements involving representing corporate and personal clients undergoing Canada Revenue Agency audits, specialty tax work with both professionals and large corporate clients, as well as regular tax planning and compliance with individuals and corporate clients. The firm also has approximately 100 real estate agents that they assist in various capacities with their tax preparation.
Steven Allen, CPA, CA
Steve obtained his CA designation in 1981. Since then he has taken several specialized courses in Canadian Income Tax. In 1983 Steve became partner in the family public accounting business founded by his grandfather in 1926.
Steve’s area of professional concentration is tax planning for individuals, families and owner-managed businesses. His interest in tax planning keeps him on top of the latest Estate and corporate tax planning options.
From 1986 to 2004 Steve had been a partner of several manufacturing companies. He is past Chapter President for the Canadian Association of Family Enterprise (CAFE), GTA. He has diverse experience in many sectors of the Canadian small business community, working with small-business owners.
Steve is a trained family council facilitator and understands how to work with families in transitional and challenging situations.
Angela Delaney, CPA, CGA
Angela joined the firm in 2009 as a Manager. Prior to joining our firm she worked for another public accounting firm in Brampton and then as a Division Controller for a public food distribution company. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo, she chose a life of accounting and obtained her designation as a CGA in 2004.
Now, with over 15 years experience in accounting and tax, she enjoys helping small-medium business owners meet their objectives through a personalized, customer service focused approach. Her experience in personal and corporate tax, compilations and review assurance engagements makes her a valuable asset to the firm.
Angela and her husband, Matthew, live in Georgetown with their two children. Outside of the office, Angela’s interests are focused around her children, from extra-curricular activities with the kids, to being an active member of the Parent Council at her kids’ school.
Shawn Kelman, CPA, CGA.
Shawn joined the firm in 2015 as a Manager with over 18 years of experience serving Georgetown and surrounding communities. Shawn’s professional interests are providing personal service to individuals, and small to medium sized businesses in tax return preparation, compilations, audit and review assurance engagements and trusts. Prior to joining the firm, Shawn was a Manager at Grant Thornton Georgetown (formerly GMA LLP) with the Independent Business Group. He is always happy to assist clients and business owners to understand their finances.
Shawn graduated from Fanshawe College in London, Ontario in 1998 where he obtained a diploma in Business Administration Accounting. He received his Certified General Accounting (CGA) designation in 2006. Shawn is a member in good standing of the CGA Association of Ontario and the Certified Professional Accountants (CPA) Association of Ontario.
Shawn is active in the community and was the lead accountant in providing the CPA Senior Tax Clinic to senior citizens living in Georgetown, providing complimentary personal tax return preparation.
Shawn grew up in Georgetown and is a graduate of Georgetown District High School where he first became interested in a career in Accounting. He now lives in Milton with his wife, Kelly and their two children. He enjoys golfing and plays tennis with the Halton Hills Tennis club.
