Death and taxes. We often refuse to think about our own mortality, however, it can be one of the best gifts we give to our family. Without adequate planning, the untimely death of the head of the household can leave the family not only grieving, but also financially destitute.
Nobody wants to think of selling the business that was suppose to be passed down from father to son or liquidating the assets that the family has worked so hard to accumulate but that is often what families without a plan are forced to do. The family business should stay in the family.
