From 1983 to 2015, I was a partner at Loftus Allen & Co. I was the third generation of the family public accounting business founded by my grandfather in 1926. My area of focus is tax planning for individuals, families and owner-managed businesses. My interest in income tax planning keeps me on top of the latest estate and corporate tax planning options.
I obtained my CA designation in 1981, and since then I have taken then I have taken several specialized courses in Canadian Income Tax. I am a trained family council facilitator and understand how to work with families in transitional and challenging situations. I was the past Chapter President for the Canadian Association of Family Enterprise (CAFE), GTA.
From 1986 to 2004 I was a partner of several manufacturing companies. This helped me understand the practical challenges that business owners face in addition to the technical issues learned in public accounting.
I enjoy experimenting on the BBQ all year round. Outside of the office, I spend a great deal of time with family. My volunteer work with Sleeping Children Around the World and with Friends of the Orphans Canada reflect how blessed I feel to have five sons and three grandchildren.
